If you are a service-based business owner who only needs a landing page instead of a website with multiple pages, you might be familiar with Showit.
Showit is a popular website builder for landing pages known for its design flexibility and drag-and-drop interface.
However, these features come at a higher monthly costs – $24 if you purchase the plan monthly, and $19 if you pay annually.
If you are just starting out your business, or you are tight on a budget, every dollar matters. Yet, you still want to have a premium web presence for a lower monthly fees.
Is it possible?
The answer is yes, but it depends. My workaround only works if you need a landing page, where the information is laid out as sections of a long page.
For $5/month you can create a landing page just as beautiful, responsive and flexible in Framer.
The $5 (annual) plan in Framer is only valid for a one-pager.
For the same landing page you would have to pay $19 in Showit.
What if I need a blog?
In that case, you have two options:
- upgrade Framer plan. For $15/month (paid annually) you can host 1000 web pages and 2 CMS collections.
- host your blog on WordPress and and use Subdomain.
I personally use the second option, simply because I already have a Hostinger hosting plan for 100 websites, so I did not have to purchase additional hosting for a blog.
If that was not the case, and I had to buy a new hosting plan for WordPress blog, then that would mean $12 additional monthly cost and it would mean $17 in total (Framer $5 for the landing page + $12 for Hostinger plan)
I would probably go for the Framer plan upgrade.
Conclusion
If you only need a landing page without a blog, the best budget-friendly Showit alternative is Framer.
